Message from DPVA Chairman Cranwell
Dear Eileen,
Bill Fleming has stepped up to be our Democratic candidate for the Virginia State Senate in the 8th District and we need every Democrat to get out and vote. Election Day is January 12, just one week from today.
Register to Vote: The deadline is TODAY — Tuesday, January 5th. If you have children, family members, or friends who can register to vote but have not done so, please encourage them to register so that they can make their first Democratic vote. Registration can be done in person at the Voter Registrar’s Office at 2449 Princess Anne Road in Virginia Beach (across the street from the McDonalds).
Absentee Voting: If you qualify to vote absentee you can vote at the Voter Registrar’s Office at 2449 Princess Anne Road until Saturday January 9th. If you have a child going off to college, remind them to vote before they leave. If you or anybody else may have difficulty voting because they will be away or cannot make it to your voting place, you can vote early in person.
Why This is Important: Democrats currently hold a one seat majority. With the two upcoming special elections in the Commonwealth, we can reinforce this majority by adding additional Democratic seats. But it depends on all of the Democratic voters in the 8th District.

Chairman Cranwell is a fine Virginian, who continues to serve the DPVA with skill and vigor, and he has been providing support for Bill Fleming from the very first day that he declared as the Eighth District candidate.
Mr. Fleming has been doing a great job carrying the Democratic banner and, most important to me, he has been running a campaign about real solutions to the issues that we all face.
A key difference is how Bill Fleming will stand firm against Bob McDonnell’s plans to re-install TOLL ROADS on our existing roads (probably the VB-Norfolk Expressway among others). Mr. McWaters, a former health insurance gatekeeper, has pledged his support for McDonnell’s transportation error, and will simply be a rubber-stamp for McDonnell’s plans to sell the operating rights to Virginia’s roads to Chinese-Australian multinational, TRANSURBAN, as well as McDonnell’s plans to sell the operating rights to the Port of Virginia.
This election has real consequences for Beach residents. So.if you want to STOP “Toll-road Bob” from slapping a toll on the VB-Norfolk Expressway, then get out and vote for Bill Fleming on TUESDAY, January 12th.
