Sen. Yvonne Miller’s Speech Last Night
Okay… a show of hands…
How many noticed Rep. Glenn Nye twisting in his seat as Sen. Yvonne Miller gave her speech last night at soon-to-be Sen. Bill Fleming’s Democratic Unity Rally? Damn… wish I recorded it!

OK, instead of hinting about it, why do you not include the point Ms Miller made?
Seems to me Ms Miller has some questions in her background. Are you willing to support bad deeds as long as the politician in question supports your viewpoint?
I am still open to the voice Ms Miller expresses because I am forced to do so. But I question anyone who points to her as the unadulterated truth.

Yvonne Miller reminds me of the senile, old grandma who shows-up at family events, making delusional comments and breaking wind.
You have to pity the old broad. She doesn’t realize that for a Democrat to win in the Second District, a delicate balance must be maintained, that includes building a coalition of many different constituencies.
Yvonne Miller is seems to think that everyone is in a comfortably gerrymandered District like she is. She also has forgotten the Biblical lesson that half a loaf is better than none.
Mr. Nye has done a superb job for ALL of the citizens in the Second District, and for that he deserves both our thanks and our rigorous support in the next election.

Odd that at a “Unity” event, Miller who appears to be one of Eddie Murphy’s characters, decides to sling crap at Glenn Nye, a good Man who is doing all that is humanly possible to hold a very conservative district, as a Democrat.
Democrats should be lauding Glenn Nye’s exceptional political skill and conscientious representation in Congress. Get over the fact that Bob McDonnell won the Gubernatorial race in a landslide, and resist the temptation to turn your anger inward and stop this self-destructive behavior.

Why do people pretend you never heard Yvonne Miller give this speech before? You really think she cares that much about Glenn Nye to cater her canned stump speech solely to him? What’s the point?

Very true, Question. She knows how to play to her audience and this speech is probably in her arsenal. It’s just ironic that she chose this time to deliver that speech.
One other thing in her speech that I thought was suspect… she said something about supporters in Norfolk not being as wealthy as Virginia Beach… something having to pay her supporters… something alluding to that being all the more reason to get out there and work??? Weird…

J. Tyler Ballance should change the spelling of his last name to Balance. This is meant as a compliment and not a criticism.

Thank-you for the compliment, LDavid.
In England, both the name and the term, is spelled with two Ls. For example, you would have an account baLLance at your English bank.
Here in America, citizens who migrated here, spell the name with either one or two Ls. In some cases, Latino people whose last name was, Valencia (the V is pronounced as a B in Spanish) had their names Anglicized into, Ballance.

i loved her speech. she was 100% correct. nye needs to excite his liberal base, thats why deeds got massacred.

I still wonder what was in that speech. I wasn’t there and haven’t seen a transcript.
So that’s the reason Deed’s didn’t get elected is it? Because he did not energize the base? So the liberals are to blame? I thought polls showed that he was trailing with the moderate vote early on, and that when he shifted to trying energizing the liberal base the independent vote went to McDonnell in a landslide. (While I describe myself as a moderate/independent, McDonnell did not get all the independents. Deeds got my vote and I was successful in getting a few to go out and vote for Deeds unless they just lied to me to get me to shut up; grin.)
