“The report acknowledged that well tests conducted on the golf course showed elevated levels of arsenic, lead and other contaminants. But it also concluded that the contaminants found in the fly ash were not moving to nearby residential wells.” YET!

Where is the real harm to nearby property owners if city water is going to be extended to them by January and there is no contamination to their current water source in the mean time? Perhaps Dominion should have to pick up the $6 million tab for these extensions but that is quite a bit less then the $1 billion being asked for in the suit. I might add that I would imagine residents’ property values might actually increase with the availability of city water service.

No harm, no foul? The aquifer beneath the golf course has already been contaminated with arsenic, lead, mercury, manganese, vanadium, beryllium, chromium, selenium, thallium, aluminum, and other toxins. As surely as water flows downhill, these will eventually move downstream into the Pocaty River and North Landing River, poisoning everything in its wake.
