Will the Pro-Choice Plate Be Your Choice?

Governor McDonnell has stepped up to make Virginia one of only three states in the country to offer a pro-choice license plate. He did however amend the bill to stipulate that no proceeds from sale of the plate goes to fund abortions. Jessica Honke, director of public policy for the Virginia League of Planned Parenthood said “We have stated from the beginning that this money would not be used for abortion services. Instead, it would be used for comprehensive reproductive care such as, PAP smears, contraception, Sexually Transmitted Infection testing and treatment”.

Now, who’s gonna buy this plate and drive around Virginia Beach with it on their otherwise ding-free, un-keyed vehicle with its fully inflated tires? Given some of the expressions of love and affection that I’ve received while driving around town with my “VB Dem” vanity tag, I’m sure the pro-choice plate will be ever so more loved and cherished here in Pat Robertson-land.

You are missing the fun. Park it with the tag and rig a video camera to capture the actions of those around the vehicle. Think of the fun you could have and even some of the folks who will get busted for the actions! They would deserve everything they get for damaging the vehicle.

I might have to pick up a “bait car” with the tag and park it in the most likely “fishing” locations. LOL

unbelievable. i would never drive around with a prochoice license plate. I dont think its good taste and its a way to garner unwanted attention.

You actually think people are going to go after your car because of an offensive license plate slogan? Anyone who damages property because of the plate deserves to be arrested, because the action is foolish as well as wrong. I am not talking about the pro choice part being offensive, but that saying you have to respect choice in order to show that you trust women. That if you are pro life, that somehow you treat women unfairly. The pro life plate doesn’t denigrate the views of others, like the slogan on this plate does.
