Nye Needs To Take A Cue from Cantor

Rep. Glenn Nye needs to take a cue from Rep. Eric Cantor and, like Cantor, at least mention how “last year I think the state received somewhere around $3 billion of stimulus monies.” (Source)

That stimulus money really saved Virginia’s hide! Glenn needs to list out examples of the jobs saved, programs salvaged and contributions made to the surplus Virginia enjoys today.

Ya wonderful political strategy. Bring to light more about what he’s already getting bashed on. stimulus, pelosi, well, pretty much everything. I’ve done what I can to figure out a way to support him, but it’s no use. He’s going to lose for the same reasons he one. Obama and the administration.

Greetings from Georgia. I’ve got my home load. 63 days on the road and I’m going to take a couple weeks vacation. I chuckle when I hear that ole’ Country & Western song about trucking that goes “Six days on the road and I’m going to make it home tonight.” Six whole days? Oh my gosh, and he’s complaining. What a wimp.

Glenn has my vote. I credit both TARP and the stimulus money for the success I have been having in my business. TARP because it enabled me to get the financing I needed when I unexpectedly had to come up with over $100K to buy a new truck. The stimulus because stimulus freight needs a truck driver behind the wheel just like all the other freight. The wheels of the American economy, (that would be the trucking industry,) are turning. In July, I had my 2nd best complete month in the last 8 years, and that is even allowing for inflation. My experience is not an oddity as most truck drivers I question are reporting highly improved earnings; most truck drivers are paid by the mile and if the wheels aren’t turning they’re not earning. Freight rates are up due to demand and the ATA (American Trucking Association) is reporting significantly increased tonnage hauled in the industry as a whole. 2009 was a horrible year for me but 2010 is shaping up to be a pretty decent year.
