Cuccinelli — defending your freedom to go without medical care or go bankrupt trying to pay for it on your own, because that’s the American way!

You have no idea how bad it would be to have National Health care and destroy the best health care in the world, you fool. You silly fool, so wrapped up in your vision of the perfect little world where “the Government” makes all your decions. I have lived with it and watched both my parents die of cancer because treatment was too expensive at their age. It will happen here too, but it will be too late by the time you wake up. Why do you think everyone comes here for treatment? They cannot get it elsewhere. I notice your illustrious leaders made sure they were not a part of it. It is time Congress had to abide by all laws they make for us. And as the true lefty you always quote the extreme.
Britain introduced a law that those brought to hospital by ambulance had to be seen in 4 hours which was impossible, so they are left outside to wait. Great system. Most doctors in Britain are from India because conditions are so bad that very few Brits wish to become a doctor. It is coming soon…..I hope you get what you wish for.

President Obama’s health reform does not have a government-run single-payer system like the NHS in England, but why let reality spoil a good rant?
August 11th, 2010 at 11:45 am
And of course when you have no answer, and know you are wrong, insult the messenger.
Obama intended to have single payer, but had to find a different way to get there in order to pass the bill, which nobody had read, and how dumb is that? Pelosi”We have to pass the bill so we can find out what is in it.” So who wrote these wonderful bills? SEIU leadership and Obama’s unelected Communist czars no doubt.
We will have nothing but a single payer system within 10 years, at best, when the insurance companies are bankrupt, there is a doctor shortage, and the small businesses pass all their employees health over to Government because they cannot possibly afford to provide it. Wait for your premiums to go up very soon, some already have.

The fact remains that there is no single-payer plan in the President Obama’s health reform law. It ended up being pretty close to the proposal he made during his campaign.
House Speaker Pelosi’s statement was misquoted and taken out of context. Health reform has been subject to a lot of misinformation and lies. What she actually said was “But we have to pass the bill so that YOU can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy.” Once the public sees what is really in the law, they will accept it.
There were no “Communist czars.” The czars were actually the Russian aristocrats who were overthrown by the Communists. The unofficial title has existed at least since FDR, although they really proliferated under Republican President Bush.
Health premiums will undoubtedly continue to rise as they did before health reform due to the aging population, increasing utilization, and medical inflation.
We’ll have to wait and see how well you can predict the future.

Obama’s ego cannot stand not being all over the TV at all times. Shame he doesn’t actually do some real work instead. Ever read Saul Alinsky’s Rules For Radicals? Obama is following his 11 rules precisely.
What happened to the “most transparent adminstration you have seen” promise. All we see is Chicago type thuggery, deals made behind closed doors, voting on unread bills…. All that was needed to improve health care was more competition, which would have restrained fee increases. Whenever the Government gets involved in anything it fails miserably. More unintended consequences.
I do not need a lesson on European history thank you. I was referring to the unelected czars(most of them Communists) surrounding Obama. Should I restrict myself to words of one syllable in future?
“We’ll have to wait and see how well you can predict the future.”
Intelligent people have the good sense to learn from history, so take a look at Europe, as that is exactly where we are headed, which is quite ironic considering the war of Independence and the Constitution were to avoid that way of life, making the individual ’sovereign’. Sadly, your party is tearing that down piece by piece.

@Molly
Can’t you see where America’s health care system is headed? Your parents died because socialized medicine couldn’t afford to bankrupt itself to pay for their treatment? Where would they have been if they lived in America? Would they have been better off?
Here in America, we are headed towards the rich get the best that money can buy and the average citizen gets nothing because he can not afford it personally and his employer can’t afford the ever increasing costs anymore either.
Personally I am in favor of limited socialized health care. It would be limited to keep it affordable. If you want more health care then what is offered? Go buy supplemental coverage or convince your employer to offer it.
Please explain to me how you parents outcome would have been better if they lived here in America. Please do not limit your explanation to the most fortunate here in America (the wealthy) please compare it to the outcome for the average citizen here in your new country.

Britain is decentralizing health care because they know, after 50 years that it does not work. Health costs increase just like everything else does, so having death panels is not going to make it any cheaper. Obozo has plans for 62 IRS agents just to chase those who refuse to buy, and who do you think is paying them?
August 17th, 2010 at 5:05 am
Molly: Sarah Palin’s “death panels” was awarded the Politifact 2009 “Lie of the Year.” End-of-life counseling used to have broad bipartisan support. In 1992, a law passed under Republican President George H.W. Bush required hospitals and nursing homes to assist patients with advance directives or living wills if they requested it. In 2003, the Medicare Part D law (passed with the support of 204 Republicans in the House and 42 Republicans in the Senate and signed by Republican President George W. Bush) provided Medicare funding for end-of-life counseling for terminally-ill patients. A provision included in the House version of the health reform bill (with the support of both the AMA and AARP) would have allowed Medicare to reimburse doctors for optional discussions with their patients about hospice care, living wills, health care directives and other end-of-life issues. That is what Palin called “death panels.” The Senate dropped it like a hot potato from the final health reform bill.
Just 62 IRS agents? Newt Gingrich claimed “One of the things in the health bill is 16,000 additional IRS agents” as “an estimate becomes spin becomes a lie becomes a sound bite.” Any new IRS bureaucrats will be processing tax credits for small businesses, not kicking down your door to force you to buy health insurance.
By the way, its “President Obama.”

David,
This is what Obamacare is doing for us.
“That’s because the $575 billion cut to Medicare over the next decade — which is needed to pay insurance subsidies for 32 million new people — will force one in seven hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies and hospices out of business, according to the formal Medicare trustees report released on April 22. By 2050, 40 percent of existing health care facilities will forced to close their doors.”

Just how hard to we have to hit you over the head before we make you see sense?

You cite an opinion column (not a news report) written by the author of “The Case against Barack Obama” for the free (because nobody would buy it) conservative Washington Examiner as an unbiased source of information?
I admit that there are some potential problems with the Medicare reimbursement rates. On the other hand, the same actuary report that he cited also said that health reform will extend the solvency of Medicare by 12 years and, by cutting out the middleman Medicare Advantage insurance company profits, annual Medicare premiums will be reduced by nearly $200 per person.
